And
Once Again...
|
On
the month of Safar 1343 AH, The Wahhabis led by the two brothers Sultan
bin Bjad and Khalid bin Lu’ay marched to re occupy Hijaz. The Ashraf met the brothers at an arid land where the
brothers committed a massacre followed by another massacre at al-Taif.
The Hijaz army was heavily defeated and the brothers entered al-Taif
and killed whomever they met in the streets. The
fall of Madina occurred in the end of December 1925 and then, the
Wahhabis exercised terror, demolished the shrines and destroyed the
Islamic landmarks. Nothing
escaped destruction except the prophet’s grave.
Since the grave of Hamza, the mosque built and dome built over it
and the martyrs graves were outside the besieged holy city of Madina ,
these were the first to be targeted for demolition by the Wahhabis
without leaving any intact. The
prophet’s shrine was also being demolished but due to the uproar and
objections of the Muslims in the Muslim World, especially the Egyptians,
this had forced the Wahhabis to stop and thus the shrine was saved from
demolition. The intentions of the Wahhabis did not change and this did not deter them from the destruction work. Thus, they are still continuing their practices up to this today in a manner well noticeable by whoever visits the holy places. |
